Delia Zafra
Innovation Manager - Technology Transfer Officer at IRB Barcelona
Delia has been working at the IRB Barcelona for more than 14 years, starting her career at the institution at the innovation and academic department and then as a postdoctoral researcher. She has been now part of the technology transfer team for more than 9 years and her role is focus on the identification and evaluation of those research results from IRB Barcelona members with potential to be transferred.
Her main areas of expertise are valuation, commercialisation and patentability studies of projects in order to protect those inventions with positive patentability and contract negotiation for the discoveries and inventions generated by the scientists, either through licences or the creation of biotechnology-based companies.
Delia holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry by the University of Barcelona and a PhD in Biochemistry by the University of Barcelona as well. In addition to that she specialised herself with a master’s programs in innovation and scientific management by the university Pompeu Fabra.
